Having come from a horticultural background, Dr. Basavaraj worked hard to achieve his goals and graduated with a PhD in Horticulture Science from Texas A&M University in the United States.
He established Rico Vineyards, guided by the profound belief that ‘Wine is all Heart’. The vineyards produce wines that blend sophistication and approachability, catering to both connoisseurs and novices. Situated amidst the verdant Krishna Valley, just 14 kilometres outside the historic city of Vijayapur (Bijapur), Rico Wines embodies a harmonious fusion of tradition and innovation.
Establishing the winery at Vijayapura, Dr Basavaraj prioritized perfection for unparalleled quality. He further aimed to connect Bangalore with wine tourism and wine tasting and introduce global wines and technology to India’s landscape.
